Events and Growth

A thriving Makerspace will bring in curious people for a first visit, encourage them to join the community, support them as members, and maintain resources and opportunities for its members.
Welcoming events
Many makerspaces hold themed events where visitors all do a simple project that encourages skill building and creativity.
They may be called playdates, makerdates intro sessions, recruitment events, skill sessions, project playdates).
Events might be held for about 1 and a half to 3 hours, and other activity may be suspended during this time.

Check out our gallery of Maker Skills Starter Projects or our Instructables for project inspiration.
