Learning Objectives
Who it is for: This exploration is for teachers or upper-level students new to robotics or coding, and/or micro:bit microcontrollers.
Summary: Learners will experiment with the 3 parts of a robotic system: Sense, Think, and Act. The mobile robot they will use is a small rover outfitted with light sensors, a distance sensor, and a micro:bit controller. After learning the hardware and basic coding structure, learners choose a challenge (such as obstacle avoidance or light-seeking) and code their rover to navigate it.
Logistics: The time required is 95 - 105 minutes assuming 1 mentor per 3-4 participants. Participants may work individually (with 1 robot car), or in pairs (with 1 robot car per pair).
