MiniGolf

Students will design and build a miniature golf course holes that meet design criteria designated by the teacher. Design criteria can include the number of obstacles or features that each hole must have, the size of the hole, the piece’s height or its surface area, or the hole’s level of difficulty.

Each green should be different but share a common content standard theme, such as places of importance, environments, ecosystems, tools, or something else. To start, the teacher can arrange a layout for the course for the entire class, or have the students design the layout. The course can be designed to be played in scale, or act as a proposal/prototype for a real-life course. In this case, students can consider criteria such as safety, structural integrity, cost, ease of construction, and fun for players.
