Festive Flashlights

Students will make an LED flashlight, a reflector, and a symbol out of easy-to-find materials. Your symbol will come to life as the reflected light washes over it.

Cardstock
Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
Copper Tape or Conductive Fabric Tape
Coin Cell Batteries (CR2032 works best)
LEDs - we like color-changing ones for this project
Small or Mini Sized Binder Clips
Aluminum Foil
Scotch Tape

Project details

In this electronics project, students will make an LED flashlight, featuring a reflector and an expressive symbol out of easy-to-find materials.

No prior experience with circuits or graphic design is required for this project- just this one-page instruction sheet.

Depending on whether students are cutting shapes by hand or using a craft cutter, this build should take approximately 1 hour.
