Data Visualization Models

At MakerFaire NYC in 2018, participants used hand tools to contribute to a collaborative data model: use a drill to mark what tools you have used; cut a dowel to length and glue to a platform to represent the decade you were born in; hammer nails to report where you came from, weave yarn to share how many languages you speak, and more. The possibilities for data collected and methods of expression are endless, and the collaborative and tactile nature of the models make them a fun and engaging way to present and analyze data.
