Full STEAM Ahead / Makers Musicales
The student content and mentor training materials were developed by Leilani Roser and Diane Brancazio of the MIT Edgerton Center K-12 MakerLab.  A major focus of this Lab is to provide educators with the skills to design and deliver their own hands-on STEM/PBL learning experiences and projects.  Our latest project, Teachers Driving Innovative Learning, is focused on Latin America and is funded by MIT J-WEL.   It builds upon the Makers Musicales program we have run jointly with the Fundacion Mustakis since 2018.  We use guided activities such as these to get teachers and students familiar with new models of learning, then support them in creating projects and activities that fit with their own academic standards. Lessons and resources for this program are being made available in both Spanish and English.
